A Double Win for Aztek at Cornwall’s Rewind Radio Business Awards

From double finalists to double winners, Aztek – supported by a room full of cheers – celebrated a standout night at the Cornwall’s Rewind Radio Business Awards, taking home two awards.

If you read our last blog, you’ll know that Jacob and Aztek were named double finalists at the inaugural Cornwall’s Rewind Radio Business Awards.

Following on from being highly commended at the 2026 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards and making the shortlist for Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s 30 under 30 Awards, Jacob once again found himself suited and booted for another big night, joined by, Keira and Patryk at Tregenna Castle in St Ives.

Surrounded by a supportive room of finalists, sponsors and fellow businesses, there was a real buzz in the air.

A Stand Out Evening

With over 300 nominations submitted across 17 categories, being named one of just three finalists in not one but two categories was a big achievement in itself. Jacob was shortlisted for Cornwall’s Rising Star, recognising emerging talent helping shape the future of Cornwall’s business landscape, while Aztek was named a finalist for Employer of the Year, celebrating organisations that place people at the heart of what they do.

The evening kicked off with welcome drinks on the front lawn of Tregenna Castle, where an 80 strong Rock Choir set the tone performing some well known favourites. With plenty of familiar faces alongside new ones, there was time to catch up, make introductions and soak in the atmosphere before the ceremony got underway.

Once the ceremony began, we took our seats at our category tables with Jacob and his partner Taylor on one side of the room, and Keira and Patryk on the other. Despite the distance, there was no shortage of support, with cheers carrying across the room, helped along by our lively and supportive tables.

Celebrating Jacob

The Cornwall’s Rising Star category was the first of the two Aztek had been nominated in to be announced, and it quickly became clear just how strong the level of talent was. All three finalists — Jacob, Jodie from Grill and Graze Café and Sarah from Peaky Digital — were incredibly deserving of recognition for their growth, determination, innovation and potential as future leaders. It was great to see all three so warmly celebrated as their names were announced.

When Jacob’s name was announced as the winner, the reaction in the room was electric. Cheers carried throughout the room as he made his way to the stage. It was a real moment, and you could see just how much the recognition meant.

For Jacob, the win, along with the reaction from the room, reflects the journey he has been on so far. From showing real commitment and progress during his apprenticeship to now leading the development of a new internal infrastructure team, his technical ability, drive and impact speak for themselves. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved so far and excited to see what comes next.

Team Achievement

After a couple more awards and a much needed break – the combination of stage lights and a sudden heatwave had ties loosened and jackets abandoned  – the ceremony returned to our second category. There was a real sense of anticipation at our table, along with plenty of support from the other finalists Coastline Housing and Hiyield, who also stood out for their positive workplaces, strong benefits, great culture and focus on employee development.

When Aztek was announced as the winner of Employer of the Year, the reaction around the table said it all. Coastline Housing and Hiyield were incredibly loud in their celebration, and we really appreciated the way they got behind us in that moment. As Patryk made his way to the stage to collect the award on behalf of the team. There was just enough time for a quick reset too, with loosened ties and jackets quickly put back in place before heading up to collect the award.

For us, this was the first award of its kind that we had entered. We truly believe in the environment we have built, so to be recognised as Cornwall’s Employer of the Year by a panel of 17 judges is something we are extremely proud of.

Says Simon Davies, Commercial Director, “To be shortlisted in two categories from over 300 nominations was a fantastic achievement in itself. To then go on to win both is something we’re incredibly proud of. Seeing Jacob recognised as a Rising Star, alongside Aztek being named Employer of the Year, means a great deal to us. It’s a real reflection of the hard work, support and culture across the whole team.”

Back At The Office

The trophies and certificates have already found their place in the office, and it’s safe to say they won’t be going unnoticed any time soon. A huge congratulations to all 17 winners and the further 34 nominees. You can find the full list of nominees and winners on the Cornwall’s Rewind Radio website.
